Maridadi appointed chair of the Zimbabwe Chapter of African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption

Mabvuku-Tafara legislator James Maridadi, who has been at the forefront of exposing corruption especially by Chinese companies, has been elected chair of the local chapter of the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption.

This was announced by Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda yesterday but was queried by Goromonzi West Member of Parliament Biata Nyamupinga who asked why all women elected were deputies.

Mudenda said this was an election and it was up to those conducting the elections to ensure balance.

Some of the issues Maridadi has raised include:

*A Chinese company that was importing dishes at two cents and selling them for $6 each because it was protected by senior government officials.

*That Mugabe should fire his entire cabinet because when Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko had told Mugabe in cabinet- imbavha dzese idzi- Mugabe had just chuckled.

*He told Information Communication Technology Minister Supa Mandiwanzira- nhasi topedzerana toenda kumapena- after he asked why Mandiwanzira had obtained a loan of $200 000 to buy a $190 000 vehicle.
