Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front chairman for the United Kingdom Ndavaningi Mangwana, popularly known as Nick Mangwana, has been appointed Permanent Secretary for Information with immediate effect.
He replaces George Charamba who was appointed Deputy Chief Secretary Presidential Communications.
Chief Secretary to the Cabinet Misheck Sibanda said Mangwana has qualifications in corporate governance, accounting, law and health studies.
“He has lived and worked in the United Kingdom where he was a regular on the International Media representing Zimbabwe’s narratives to the world. He is also a columnist for the Herald and People’s Voice and writes for the New African,” Sibanda said.
“He will bring vast technical competence and experience in contemporary media to the new task.”
Mangwana, who was photographed with Charamba and Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, said he had already discussed the “eradication of political polarisation”.
