Khupe to launch party manifesto on Saturday

The Thokozani Khupe faction of the Movement for Democratic Change will launch its party manifesto in Bulawayo this Saturday.

Party deputy president Obert Gutu says on his twitter handle the theme will be Building an Economy to Support Transformation (BEST).

“We promise to give Zimbabweans nothing but the very BEST.  Zimbabweans deserve the very BEST,” Gutu says.

“Everything we do is carefully planned and meticulously executed. That's why we believe in offering Zimbabweans nothing but the very BEST.

“Smart politics.

“Smart strategy.

“Smart planning.”

The Khupe-led faction of the MDC-T broke away from the Nelson Chamisa faction after refusing to recognise the appointment of Nelson Chamisa as party leader by the party’s national council.

The two are currently using the MDC-T name and logo, though the Khupe faction has removed the picture of founding president Morgan Tsvangirai from their logo.

The case of who has legitimate title to the party name and logo is before the Supreme Court.
