Jonathan Moyo tells Mai Mujuru mhosva haiwori

Information Minister Jonathan Moyo has told former Vice-President Joice Mujuru that she is free to play with fire if she so wishes but “mhosva haiwori”.

Mujuru, the former Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front second-in-command, apologised to the nation for the mistakes she and her ZANU-PF colleagues had made, a move that was viewed as a prelude to her political comeback.

Mujuru together with former Secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa and party spokesman Rugare Gumbo were expelled from the party after the December congress for allegedly trying to topple President Robert Mugabe.

She has been under pressure to form a political party with some reports suggesting that donors were pressurizing Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai to team up with Mujuru or lose their financial backing.

Several allegations of corruption were also levelled against her but up to now she has not been charged. Mujuru dismissed the allegations saying they were politically motivated.

Moyo said, however, that Mujuru was not off the hook yet.

“The wheels of justice move at their own pace and both the arresting and prosecutorial authorities are constitutionally independent,” he told The Herald.

“Meanwhile, Mujuru is free to play with fire if she so wishes, but mhosva haiwori.”
