Jonathan Moyo says Mugabe is grooming ZANU-PF youths just like he did Mnangagwa in 1977

Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo, one of the alleged leaders of the G40 faction of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front which has now taken over the reins of the ruling party, says President Robert Mugabe is grooming today’s youths just like he did with former Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 1997.

“Just like he invited young Mnangagwa to Maputo in 1977, President Mugabe is today inviting Zimbabwe's youths to be part of the vanguard generation of renewal in Zanu PF & government,” Moyo tweeted.

“Politics is not about individuals but collectives with a shared history & a common destiny!”

To reinforce his point he quoted Mugabe as saying: “Takagara tataura kuti kuvakuru isu zuva rakudoka, kuvana vedu vadiki rakubuda".

“This anti-entitlement call by President Mugabe is for generational renewal in Zanu PF, government & the country!” he said.

Moyo said Mnangagwa, who was fired as Vice-President on Monday and expelled from the party on Wednesday, had something to hide that is why he had skipped the country.

“When a senior official is fired from a high ranking government office & they jump the border into self exile within hours of their dismissal, you know that they are running away from being legally held to account for heinous crimes they committed & covered up while in office!”

Mnangagwa says he fled the country because his life was in danger but promised to come back to halt the creation of a Mugabe dynasty and restore order in ZANU-PF and the government.

One of Moyo’s followers tweeted back: “Hanzi naED i am coming back, fambai muchicheuka Prof munosvikigwa nemakarwe muri patwitter”.

Reports say that Mnangagwa might be charged with treason.
