Is Mnangagwa going to have his day today?

Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, still smarting from the humiliation of being stripped his powerful post of Justice Minister- it made him leader of the House of Assembly-,is likely to have his day today when he defends himself against allegations made against him by Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo that he is after the throne.

Although party secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo refused to disclose the agenda of the politburo meeting, now on , with media reports sing it will focus on the party’s forthcoming annual conference, the online media has been awash with what it purported to be Mnangagwa’s response to Moyo.

In the response, Mnangagwa allegedly claims that Jonathan Moyo is a United States Central Intelligence Agency operative who is all out to destroy the party from within.

Jonathan Moyo is allegedly working with Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere and Movement for Democratic Change vice-president Nelson Chamisa.

Whispers say what happens today and tomorrow will indicate whether Mnangagwa is still a player in national politics or he is finished.

But Mnangagwa has survived similar humiliation before when he was demoted to Minister of Rural Housing in 2005 but survived to become Minister of Defence and then Vice-President.
