First Lady Grace Mugabe was yesterday ordered to return three properties that she seized from a Lebanese business in a botched $1.35 million diamond deal, according to News 24.
The South African news agency reported that High Court Judge Clement Phiri ordered the First Lady to remove her representatives from the properties which she seized after Jamal Ahmed failed to repay the $1.35 million she had paid for a diamond ring to mark her 20th wedding anniversary to President Robert Mugabe.
The First Lady is reported to have ordered the 10-carat diamond ring in April last year but only paid for it in May this year. But she refused to accept the ring and instead demanded a refund insisting that the money should be paid in Dubai.
Grace’s expensive habits have been under the spotlight over the past few days amid reports that she has splashed more than $7 million in the past few months.
