First lady Grace Mugabe, who resumed her rallies last week in Buhera after almost a year’s break, “is toxic and unsettled” because of her uncertainty with the future, London-based NewZimbabwe.Com said today
It quoted one analyst as saying if Grace continued her tirade, especially against Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, President Robert Mugabe will lose next year’s elections as it will be another “bhora musango”.
Bhora Musango- ball off the goalpost- was coined in 2008 when Mugabe lost the March elections but his legislators got more votes indicating that some people that had voted for his party lieutenants had not voted for him.
Mugabe turned 93 today and has vowed to stand in next year’s elections.
“Grace is content free and has no capacity to consolidate ZANU-PF support,” the commentator said.
“She is a very divisive character and too ambitious. Grace needs a lot of hand-holding,” the commentator said adding that she was being used by some within the G40 faction of the ruling party.
From her tone, however, Grace seems to have the support of her husband who former Vice-President Joice Mujuru said was the real leader of G40.
