Four Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front provinces have voted that national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere must go, leaving six to go.
The first to make such a call was his home province Mashonaland Central followed by Masvingo, then Bulawayo and last Midlands.
The provinces say Kasukuwere should be expelled from the party for trying to oust President Robert Mugabe the same allegations that saw former Vice-President Joice Mujuru being kicked out of the party.
President Robert Mugabe has tried to shield Kasukuwere from public demonstrations saying the party should use its structures.
Kasukuwere was one of the kingpins of the G40 faction of ZANU-PF that is trying to thwart Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa from taking over.
They prefer First Lady Grace Mugabe.
War veterans have, however, reiterated that they will never salute anyone with no liberation credentials, a move that opposition parties have taken to mean Morgan Tsvangirai, yet this applies to the First Lady as well.
