Zimbabwe’s first private radio station went on air today. Star FM is owned by Zimbabwe Newspapers which is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange though the State is the major shareholder. So far the country has relied on the state-owned Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation which operates four radio stations and two television channels.
