Low cost carrier, Fastjet said today increased frequencies on its Harare and Victoria Falls route.
The carrier is offering prices of $38 one way, inclusive of tax on the route but on its website, prices are as high as $255 during the Easter holiday week.
The airline, which previously operated three weekly flights on the route on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, said it had added a Friday flight from April 7, 2017 “to provide passengers with a convenient weekend away service”.
“Tickets for the additional flights are already on sale, with fares starting from $20 one-way, exclusive of all relevant government taxes of $18. fastjet advises passengers to book 21 days in advance of their intended departure date to save by taking advantage of its lowest priced fares ,” said Faith Chaitezvi, Fastjet regional marketing executive.
“Our low-cost business model allows us to keep fares low for everyone, and rewarding passengers who book early with even lower fares, is just another way that Fastjet is working to make flying even more affordable,” she said in a statement.
Fastjet Zimbabwe recently celebrated flying more than 125 000 passengers on 1 678 flights, with an impressive 94 percent on-time performance.
But in February, the airline pulled out of the Victoria Falls-Johannesburg route citing high operational costs.
It failed to make headway on the route dominated by British Airways’ Comair and South African Airways. SAA launched a wide-body Airbus A330-200 jetliner in February to underline its dominance of the route.-The Source
