The Zimbabwean government is considering feeding prisoners with elephant meat to improve their diet, reports said today. The reports said some 20 inmates died each day in 2009 as a result of a poor diet and disease. The country has 14 000 prisoners. It has 88 000 elephants which are said to be too many for the country to sustain.
