The head of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission retired Judge Simpson Mutambanengwe has resigned. Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa said Mutambanengwe resigned on the grounds of ill health. Zimbabwe is due to hold elections this year and is planning to hold a referendum on a new constitution before the elections.
