Eight ZANU-PF legislators likely to be expelled today

Eight more Zimbabwe African National Union legislators, seven Members of Parliament and one senator, can be expelled today when Parliament resumes sitting after they were expelled from the party on 19 November.

Those likely to be expelled are Paul Chimedza, who served as Masvingo Provincial Affairs Minister for less than a month, Shadreck Mashayamombe , Samuel Undenge a former Minister of Energy,  Makhosini Hlongwane a former Mister of Sports,  Sarah Mahoka, Walter Mzembi a long –serving Minister of Tourism who was promoted to Foreign Affairs but did not last a month,  Anastacia Ndlovu,  and Eunice Sandi Moyo a senator who was Provincial Affairs Minister for Bulawayo.

The eight were part of a group of 20 G40 members who were expelled at the ZANU-PF central committee meeting of 19 November.

Five were expelled from Parliament on 28 November. These were former Finance Minister Ignatius Chombo, former Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere, former Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo, former youth leader Kudzanai Chipanga and former Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Mandi Chimene.

Moyo, Kasukuwere and Chimene are said to have skipped the country but their whereabouts are still not known.

Chombo and Chipanga are appearing in court on various charges but are currently out on bail.

Parliament resumes sitting today with its main business being the 2018 budget.
