Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front national political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere, who has dominated the headlines for the past two weeks, is likely to know his fate today after a four-member team led by Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda was sent to Mashonaland Central to hear why the province wants him out.
Mashonaland Central voted to kick out Kasukuwere and his brother Dick Mafios for allegedly setting up parallel structures and planning to oust President Robert Mugabe.
Kasukuwere has rubbished the accusations saying those who want him out actually want Mugabe out and are just using his name.
Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko said those seeking to kick out Kasukuwere are being led by war veterans leader Christopher Mutsvangwa who wants to replace Kasukuwere with someone of his choice.
Mutsvangwa was expelled from the party last year.
Kasukuwere is one of the leaders of the G40 faction of ZANU-PF.
His demise would be a major victory for those behind Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa who has described the present infighting within the party as internal fumigation.
