Lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa was today denied bail and was remanded to 3 April. Mtetwa was arrested on Sunday and is charged with obstructing justice. Her lawyers said she was going to appeal. Mtetwa was arrested while trying to represent four officials from Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s office. Police say that Mtetwa shouted at them. Mtetwa says that she merely told police that they were violating her clients’ rights by carrying out illegal searches and refusing to produce valid search warrants.
