Former Mines Minister Edward Chindori-Chininga, who now chaired the Parliamentary Committee on Mines and Energy, died in a car accident today. His committee had just released a report which said millions of dollars in royalties paid to the government by diamond companies in Marange had disappeared. He was aged 58.
