The first is that President Emmerson Mnangagwa stole an electoral victory from Chamisa.
“What this has done is that not a single Zimbabwean believes that Mnangagwa is the President, he won the election. Not a single Zimbabweans is willing to spend a penny on anything in the country that relies on government,” he said.
Sibanda said when Mnangagwa’s government makes policy the economy and the market respond by running away.
The second reason is that President Mnangagwa does not have any working policy around the economy and around policy. He is running a propaganda government. “Everything they do is PR”.
The answer to Zimbabwe’s problem is a national transitional authority suggested by Chamisa because Chamisa alone is worth $50 billion.
Mnangagwa has flatly rejected the idea of a government of national unity.
Chamisa said he did not want a government of national unity either.
“Nobody wants a GNU. We have said we want a transitional authority because our nation is in transition,” he told Newsday.
“It needs a return to legitimacy and an emergency economic rescue package. As far as we are concerned, we do not have a government that has the backing of the people.”
