Chamisa says he has two weeks to consult people but police deny permission for Kwekwe rally

Movement for Democratic Change Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa today said he has two weeks to consult Zimbabweans on the next step but police have denied him permission to hold his first “thank you” rally that was penciled for Mbizo in Kwekwe this Sunday.

Police said permission for the rally had been denied because health officials said there was an outbreak of typhoid in the province so they were not allowing public gatherings.

“Had a robust Party National Council meeting yesterday on the way forward. Ready to rescue & lead our country to full happiness and total freedom.” Chamisa tweeted today. “We have two weeks to consult with all Zimbabweans on the next step. Also in Mbizo, Kwekwe this sunday for a Thank you Rally.#Godisinit.”

While most of his supporters thanked Chamisa who personally responded to some of the tweets, one Tawanda Madzivanyika said: “I think you should wait for Gods time. U have done everything we expected you to do. If its yoz you won’t need to fight Nelson. If God is in it then listen to him when he says its not yet. Toying with people’s hearts wont help unless IF YOUR MISSION IS TO BE PRESIDENT.”

Kelvin Kufakunesu disagreed: “Press on Mr President.  Zimbabwe is ready for you, for the restoration of people’s power and God’s leadership. Our God never sleeps nor slumber. We won not by our mighty but by the power and Grace of God.”
