Chamisa requests private meeting with Auxillia Mnangagwa

Movement for Democratic Change leader Nelson Chamisa is reported to have requested a private meeting with Zimbabwe First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa when they met at the funeral of late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s daughter, Vimbai Java.

According to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, Chamisa made the request after the Tsvangirai family had also requested to meet the First Lady in private.

Chamisa appeared on television face to face with the First Lady but the national broadcaster did not say whether he had been granted his request.

The First Lady who described Tsvangirai as “sekuru” (uncle) showered praise on Vimbai who was the Member of Parliament for Glenview South.

Vimbai died on Monday after almost four weeks in hospital following an accident which claimed two lives, one of them her uncle.

She will be buried tomorrow.
