Chamisa has rejected the results of the 30 July elections which gave victory to his main rival Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front saying they were rigged.
He says he won the elections but the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission announced the opposite.
“I’m UNSHAKEN & UNMOVED. By God’s grace we WON,” he said today.
“God’s promises are sure & true. Get ready to behold the NEW. Change is coming!
“I’m fortified by Job 19:25. (which says) For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.#Godisinit.”
One of his twitter followers going by the name of Nate Shingi, however, told Chamisa not to mock God.
“Chamisa thought he was the smartest guy on the planet when he BENDED the MDC constitution to illegally push Khupe out & to steal the party for himself,” he said in response to Chamisa.
“God is not mocked brother, repent and move on because you are never going to taste the presidency, it’s OVER. #SORRY.”
Kuda Switch who claimed to be on Chamisa’s side said: “Wangu tirikuSide kwako but quoting verses and just saying ‘WE WON’ won’t do us and you any good. Imbobuditsa maV11 ako.”
Peter Maina, a Kenyan, chipped in: “Plz Chamisa don’t burn your country in search of Power. Spare the people of Zimbabwe the catastrophe, embrace peace and save your energy to fight another day. It’s Ordinary people who will suffer most. Remember, when two bulls fight, it’s the grass that suffers. Accept & move on.”
Chamisa’s supporters, however, urged him not to back down.
”Dont accept nelson people where killed others are being tortured ndebeles need someone who will make them feel tat they are zimbos and bring that reconciliation. Zim is going to be great again under u. Its better that i lose my life and give my kids a better president,” John Nyoka said.
Chamisa is a lawyer and a pastor.
