Can Havercroft really revive Zimbabwe’s largest meat processor?

Havercroft also comes up in the Offshore Leaks Database as the director of V20 Corporation and 22/11 Corporation both of which are in the British Virgin Islands. Gavin is the other director. His address in the offshore leaks is 27 Helensvale Road, Harare.

He is also a director or former director of more UK companies which include: The Rhodesian Beef Company limited. Bioned Pvt Limited, Firefly X Limited, Iquitine Limited, Ava Avione Art Limited, Nico Helmets Limited.

Nick Havercroft was involved in another UK tobacco company Tobacco Global Ltd which was dissolved some years ago but he also comes up as a director of Vinox Limited and McCroft Tobacco Kosovo LLC.

Havercroft got into some trouble with the Food and Drug Administration of the United States for mislabeling tobacco products on his website for African Spirit Tobacco Limited.

He also came up in a Securities Exchange Commission document in the United States where he was appointed one of the directors of Imagin Molecular Corporation in 2010.

He also is listed as a director of three South African companies, Barzan 51, Barzan 14 and Westhouse Tobacco South Africa.

From the above profile it appears that Havercroft has his fingers in too many business whose performance is not clear.

This raises questions about whether he is the right person to revive a huge operation like the CSC.

More importantly why is he being touted as British investor?

Could there be more to the deal that the nation was told?

Workers at the CSC say they do not know anything about the agreement that Havercroft signed with the government and he is keeping it a closely guarded secret.
