The president’s office today announced that the cabinet’s weekly meetings have been cancelled for the rest of the month and cabinet will only be recalled “if the need arises”. Parliament was dissolved on 29 June to pave way for new elections but cabinet continues to function until a new one is appointed. The move was to allow cabinet members to campaign for elections due on 31 July.
