One of the people has symptoms suggestive of coronavirus but all 47 will be followed up for the next 21 days and will be tested.
Zimbabwe has so far tested 438 people and only 11 were positive.
Three of them have since died.
Five of those that tested positive are from Harare, four from Mashonaland East, one from Bulawayo and another from Matebeleland North.
The ministry also said it had re-tested the first person found with the virus and he remained positive.
It said according to the World Health Organisation patients who have confirmed mild cases of coronavirus and are under home care must test negative twice before they are released from home isolation.
Zimbabwe declared a national lockdown on 30 March and is now on day 12.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa said he is yet to decide whether to extend the lockdown or not.
