Biti, 5 other MDC officials granted bail

Movement for Democratic Change Alliance vice-president Tendai Biti, his co-vice-president Lynette Karenyi-Kore, deputy secretary-general David Chimhini, international relations secretary Gladys Hlatywayo, her deputy Lovemore Chinoputsa and Vongai Tome, were today granted bail of $1 000 when they appeared in court facing two charges.

The six were arrested yesterday outside Morgan Tsvangirai House which had been occupied by the rival faction led by interim MDC-T president Thokozani Khupe.

They are charged with public nuisance and violating coronavirus lockdown regulations.
