The government has now formally received an application for a licence to start mining of diamonds in Bikita from Nan Jiang Africa Resources, reports said today, but it stressed that the firm would only get licenced if it cedes majority shareholding to Zimbabweans in line with the country’s indigenisation and empowerment laws. Nan Jiang Africa Resources is believed to be a consortium of Chinese and Zimbabwean businessmen.
