Another nail in Mujuru’s coffin

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Christopher Mutsvangwa has been elected chairman of the powerful Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association putting another nail into Vice-President Joice Mujuru’s coffin. Mutsvangwa was the first senior Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front official to denigrate Mujuru when he said she should not delude herself into thinking that she could succeeed President Robert Mugabe. He also said Mujuru did not shoot down a Rhodesian helicopter during the struggle. This was a creation of Webster Shamu. “Zvekare hapana comrade akanga akatakura pfuti mbiri mbiri ari mumwe. Taingove mumwe neimwe. Kupedzisa nekukanda pasi manyepo ekudonhedza helicopter yemuvengi akaumbwa naWebster Shamu kumupembedza kuti abviswe kuvamwe macomrades. Ngatisanyengedzwe nePovho nemagwara atavakudyidzana nawo mushure mekupera kwehondo yerusununguko,”  Mutsvangwa said. Mujuru has been under siege since then with First Lady Grace Mugabe taking on the campaign to discredit her as a corruption and ambitious person out to get rid of her husband. Now, she is accused by the Sunday Mail of plotting to assassinate Mugabe.
