The African National Congress of South Africa today congratulated Zimbabwe on the signing of its new constitutions saying this marked a significant milestone in the successful implementation of the global peace agreement and democratic life in Zimbabwe. “It is further a signal of a new beginning for that country premised on mutual cooperation and the need for further progress,” spokesman Jackson Mthembu said. He said the “free fair and peaceful” nature of the referendum was a clear pointer to the fair and free elections Zimbabwe would hold in the near future.
