Active coronavirus cases in Zimbabwe drop to 754

The number of active coronavirus cases in Zimbabwe today dropped to 754 after 132 people recovered and two died.

Harare and Bulawayo account for 546 of the cases with Matebeleland North which had the second highest number yesterday dropping to 106 cases after 99 people from the province recovered.

Manicaland has 34 cases while all the other provinces have less than 20 people each.

There we 33 new cases today raising the total to 36 717 while the number of those who have recovered went up to 34 447. So far 1 516 people have died.

The vaccination programme continued with 841 people receiving the first dose raising the total to 44 135 while 762 got the second jab raising the tally to 1 062.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to get his first jab in Victoria Falls tomorrow.
