Active coronavirus cases in Bulawayo drop to 75 while those in Harare increase to 1 138

Twenty-eight people, all of them from Bulawayo, recovered from the coronavirus today resulting in the number of active cases in the city dropping to 75.

The drop was marginal because 17 of the 43 new cases recorded today were also from the city.

Harare had nine new cases which saw the number of active cases in the city increasing to 1 138.

Bulawayo has so far recorded 1 497 cases but 1 376 have recovered and 45 have died.

Harare has recorded 3 274 cases. Some 2 015 have recovered and 121 have died.

Zimbabwe has 7 994 cases to date which include 6 474 recoveries and 229 deaths.

Globally there are now 37 million cases. These include 1.07 million deaths, 27.8 million recoveries and 8.1 million active cases.

France has now overtaken South Africa and is now at number 10 globally

Just below South Africa is the UK which still has some 100 000 cases fewer.

India, which is in second place, will clock 7 million cases any time.
