Yesterday the Ministry of Health said 55 cases were recorded at a boarding school in Matebeleland South but did not name the school.
The Chronicle, however, named the school as Sacred Heart Secondary in Esigodini which would mean that the girls’ school has recorded 133 cases in two days if the 78 cases reported today are at the same school.
There were also three deaths today raising the total to 1 535.
Cases have now risen to 37 147 and recoveries to 34 831. Only 17 people recovered today.
Active cases have risen to 781 with 412 in Harare, 140 in Matebeleland South and 120 in Bulawayo.
Some 11 694 people were vaccinated today raising the number of people who have received the first dose to 178 237 while 834 got their second dose bringing the total to 27 968.
