13 die of coronavirus as Harare deaths surpass 100

Zimbabwe today recorded 13 coronavirus deaths pushing the toll to 179.

Ten of the deaths were in Harare which now has 103 deaths.

There were 55 new cases and 40 recoveries but the number of active cases only rose by two to 1071.

Zimbabwe now has 6 251 cases and 5 001 recoveries.

More than half of today’s recoveries were from Bulawayo which now has only 91 active cases.

Harare has 433, followed by Matebeleland South with 192 and Mashonaland West with 120.

Bulawayo has 29 deaths followed by Manicaland with 18.

The number of active cases in South Africa continues to decline and now stands at 79 328 though the number of cases has risen to 613 017 and deaths to13 308.

Globally there are now 24.2 million cases which include more than 826 700 deaths, 16.7 million recoveries and 6.7 million active cases.
