Acting war veterans chairperson Manditawepi Chimene who asked President Robert Mugabe to fire Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa because he leads a faction calling for Mugabe to step down suffered a major blow today when the High Court barred her splinter group from convening a meeting to elect a new leadership for the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association.

According to The Herald Justice Joseph Musakwa stopped the group from interfering with activities of the association which is still led by Christopher Mutsvangwa.

Mutsvangwa was expelled from the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front and later from parliament for insubordination.

President Robert Mugabe had urged war veterans who demonstrated in his support to elect a new leadership if they wanted.
