First lady is not an official title

The word first lady is not an official title and should always be in lowercase, says the Associated Press’ 2016 Election Guide for the United States which is preparing for its presidential elections towards the end of this year.

The guide has reminders on familiar terms and the correct way to use them in the coverage of the elections whose primaries are currently under way.
